      The Beginning

      Cosan launches its operations with the Costa Pinto sugarcane mill in Piracicaba, So Paulo.

    • 1986


      Acquisition of new mills and first sugar exports from Brazil's Center South region.

    • 1993


      First exports of bulk sugar and launch of Very High Polarization (VHP) Sugar, targeted at the export market.

      New Brand

      Creation of the Cosan brand, effectively consolidating the company's image.

      Da Barra Mill

      Continued expansion with the acquisition of the Barra Bonita mill in So Paulo.

    • 2005

      IPO So Paulo Stock Exchange

      Cosan's initial public offering raises US$ 400 MM and makes it the 1st company in its industry to go public and trade on the Novo Mercado segment.

      IPO on the NYSE

      Initial public offering of Cosan Limited on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

    • 2008

      ExxonMobil Acquisition

      Acquisition of ExxonMobil's assets in Brazil marks entry in the fuel and lubricant distribution sector.

      Launch of Radar, a company engaged in identifying rural properties with high potential for agricultural operations and price appreciation.

    • 2009

      Nova Amrica

      Acquisition of Nova Amrica (Acar Unio), further strengthening the company's position as the world's largest individual sugar and ethanol producer.

      Creation of Razen, a joint venture between Cosan and Shell dedicated to producing sugar and ethanol from sugarcane and to fuel distribution.

      Acquisition of controlling interest in Comgs, Brazil's leading natural gas distributor, to further strenghten its presence in the energy sector.

    • 2013


      Inauguration of Logum, an ethanol pipeline connecting the production areas to the consumption centers of Paulnia, Rio de Janeiro and the So Paulo metropolitan area.

      Comma Oil

      Moove Lubricants acquires Comma of England, a milestone in its international expansion.

    • 2015

      Cosan Biomassa

      Cosan Biomassa forms join venture with Sumitomo of Japan to create the world's first company to produce and sell pellets made from sugarcane bagasse and straw.

    • 2016

      Lubrificantes na Espanha

      Driven by the success in Brazil and South America, Cosan Lubricants becomes the exclusive distributor of Mobil products in Spain.

      Cosan Lubricants changes to Moove and transforms it's corporate visual identity, strenghtening its position in the lubricants market.

      Cosan S/A concluded in November the sale of part of its shares in Radar for R$ 1.0 bln, maintaning a 3% interest in the company, due to its expertise in the sector.
